My Bionic Bat Shit Crazy Knee + WIAW

May 25, 2016 By Laura

My knee is bionic.

Or I’m bat shit crazy.

Let’s be honest… I am certifiable a little crazy.  Vegas says it’s part of my charm (granted, next to her I am basically sane).

I decided that I was SICK of doing cardio on the elliptical.  That thing makes me feel like a hamster.  Instead, I decided to go for a run.  I told myself I’d do an easy 30 mins, but it felt good so I went for an hour.

Things I’m Loving (and other randomness)

May 16, 2016 By Laura

Being reduced to crutches has given me a lot of time to catch up on stuff.

And drink wine… but that’s neither here nor there.

Today I thought I’d share a list (does this count Meghan?) of some of random things I’ve been up to and/or loved lately – recipes, articles, things we’ve been up to… all marvelous.  I’m bored, can you tell?

1. Did you know Glutamine is good for IBS?  Vegas has IBS big time.  She’s got some gummies headed her way this week!

I made mine mostly like the recipe, but used acai and cherries as the fruit.  I think I needed more liquid…

10 Random Products I Love

April 25, 2016 By Laura

I’m a passionate of user of very few things.

Packing up to move makes you realize what you REALLY need.

So yeah… we’re moving again.  As much as I loved the cross-country Route 66 drive, I’m relieved that this time we’re just going down the street.  As I’m – once again – sifting through stuff, deciding what we need and what is just clutter, I realize there are a few things I’ve discovered in our first year here that I truly love.  Funny enough… it’s not clothes or shoes or other “stuff.”  (I’ve actually donated or tossed half my clothing since leaving Atlanta.  Hooray half-assed minimalism!)

The things I’m sharing today are can’t-live-without items I’ve re-ordered more than once, and a few things that have stayed with me for at least 4 years.

I don't use the same things over and over... but these 10 things I just don't want to live without.

Injured Knee Leg Workout + WIAW

April 13, 2016 By Laura

Leg day is even less fun with a torn ACL.

You’d think I’d use this as an excuse to skip it.

If I weren’t scared of my leg totally atrophying I wouldn’t bother with legs.  But I am.  So we did it.  Yes, Vegas even came to the gym with me.

Self-love

I’m not “leg day.”

I Am Certifiable + WIAW

March 30, 2016 By Laura

Some days I think I am certifiable.

Side note: Bat-shit crazy is actually the name of the group text between my mom, sisters, and me.

So… we know I tore my ACL.  How about 6 days later I decided I’d still participate in a 22 mile bike ride?  I mean… I’d already registered and paid the fee…

Vegas was so mad she would barely speak to me.

Bad News + WIAW

March 23, 2016 By Laura

I completely forgot I was hosting WIAW today.

But I have a really good excuse.

I’m too busy going to doctors and laying around like this:

San Diego’s 5 Peak Challenge + WIAW

February 24, 2016 By Laura

Can I have a Wordless WIAW?

Who am I kidding… I never shut up.

Yesterday I completed San Diego’s 5 Peak Challenge.  It was such a beautiful hike; I wish I could just post 20 pictures today!  That’s a little boring, I know.  Plus the challenge is a fun background story!

I hiked the first two peaks alone on Tuesday and again on Saturday with friends.  Yesterday I did the final three alone.  Well, alone with the company of a few podcasts.

My Random List of Accomplishments

February 22, 2016 By Laura

There is a lot of stuff in my head.

You don’t want to be in there.  Trust me.

In an effort to organize myself this week, I made an actual written To-Do List.  I’m normally not that organized, but there’s something especially motivating about getting to cross through things.

In that spirit, I decided to join in Meghan’s Week in Review.  Because I got shit done.  Meghan, what do you think about renaming it “Shit I Got Done”?
