A Day in the Life {WIAW}

July 27, 2016 By Laura

My friends always ask me “do you even work?!”

Ah, the beach life…

I work for myself, which means flexibility.  It’s something I value above all else.  I go to the gym when I want, I basically alternate between PJs and gym clothes, and – best of all – I can work from anywhere.

One of my favorite types of posts to read are “day in the life” stories.  Today I thought I’d try my hand at one, along with the usual WIAW post.

Walnut Pesto & Shrimp Cauliflower Crust Flatbread {WIAW}

June 22, 2016 By Laura

We’re big pizza fans.

But who isn’t?!

When I saw that this month’s Recipe Redux topic was to celebrate another ReDuxer, I knew immediately I was going with the pesto flatbread from the walnut round up.

At least once a week some form of pizza happens in my house.  Vegas would eat if for every meal if I let her!  Pizza, flatbread… same difference, no?  I added my own #strangebutgood twist by making it a Walnut Pesto & Shrimp Cauliflower Crust Flatbread.

Canned Wine, Cardio, & WIAW

June 1, 2016 By Laura

I’m starving.

Thank you, incessant cardio.

I began my day meeting a new client, then I had to go to Whole Foods.  There was one right next door to my meeting… I couldn’t help myself.

It was a new-to-me location, so I wandered aimlessly for a good while taking pics of fun things like sparkling wine in a can.  I miiiiiight have purchased a 4-pack.  Curiosity killed the cat.

Sparkling wine in a can - don't judge!

Back Workout For Injured Legs + WIAW

May 18, 2016 By Laura

I made it back to the gym!

Funny how that seems like more of a treat when you’re injured.

I’ve ditched the crutches and settled for a limp.  Crutches suck, btw.  I can deal with the arm strength aspect, but the chafing!  Lawd that sucked.  Anyway, I made it to the gym.  I rode the stationary bike verrrrrrry gently and did some back (all seated – safety third!).

It was a struggle, but I was happy to be moving around!

I am pumped

Savory French Toast + WIAW

May 11, 2016 By Laura

The move is over.

I hope we stay in this house for a very, very long time.

We’ve found places for about 75% of our belongings.  We’ve hooked up the Wii.  We’ve even had a dinner party!  It feels like home.

Peanut Butter Banana Pops [Recipe]

April 15, 2016 By Laura

There is no greater combination than peanut butter and banana.

Well, maybe chocolate.

It’s more than a little strange for me to be posting such a super-simple recipe, especially one involving frozen fruit.  It’s good, nonetheless.  A peanut butter banana pop in the heat of the summer couldn’t sound more perfect, no?

Plus, it’s really strange and hilariously good to watch Vegas eat one of these.  She forbid me from posting the pics, but they exist, trust me.

Nut Butter Banana Pops - whether it's a summer afternoon treat or a bachelorette party favor, you really can't go wrong!
