Blueberry BBQ Pork Skewers {Recipe}

August 21, 2016 By Laura

Summer is meant for barbecue.

Mostly because it’s too hot to use the stove.

Grilling outside means not having to heat up the kitchen, plus you get to enjoy the weather by cooking outside.  Unless you’re in one of those crazy hot states (sorry Arizona).  The other bonus is the ease.  You can have a flavorful, healthy dinner with very little clean up.  Yet another reason to love these Blueberry BBQ Pork Skewers.

Blueberry BBQ Pork Skewers - great sweet-n-savory grill recipe!

For this easy Blueberry BBQ Pork Skewer recipe, all you need is a one-pot homemade barbecue sauce and a quick session with the grill.  I often order pork dishes with fruit accents during our travels, but for some reason I’ve never cooked much pork at home.  Don’t make my mistake.

Cupping Therapy, Lebanese Wine, & WIAW

August 17, 2016 By Laura

I’m moving slow this week.

Because I was attacked by an octopus.

Ok, so maybe not for real.  I’ve been crazy sore and the octopus action helped me with recovery.  It’s actually called supping therapy (you may have seen similar spots on Michael Phelps).

Socca Waffles, Glutes, and WIAW Eats

August 10, 2016 By Laura

The Olympics have taken over our TV.

Is everyone else this obsessed?

I feel like this week has been background to the Olympics.  I work while watching the Olympics, I plan workouts while watching the Olympics, Vegas and I eat dinner in front of the TV… we are obsessed.

I did get away for a run though.  It was a gorgeous day, despite all the hills.

The One Where My Sister Moved In

August 8, 2016 By Laura

My baby sister and I never really lived together.

I left for college when she was 10.

It’s funny to think about.  My baby sister, Madison, was still a baby when I left for college.  We all still lived in Georgia.  It’s not like we didn’t see each other, but that’s a lot different that sharing space.

I had to laugh when this popped up in my Timehop last week:

Living with the baby…

Leg Day Fuel {WIAW}

August 3, 2016 By Laura

Working out in the heat is 100x harder.

Especially cardio and leg day.

I’ve actually gotten in a few good runs.  Maybe I’ll one day earn the “sprint” back.  Until then, I’ll be satisfied with my current summer heat pace.  It’s definitely faster than I’ve been in a couple of years!

It’s that time again…

No, not THAT time.

Back to school.  Even if you don’t have kids you’re trying to hustle out the door, you probably have to leave a little earlier thanks to the additional school traffic.

I’m blogging over at Farmer Direct today with 5 Make Ahead Back-to-School Breakfast Ideas.  It’s round up of ideas from fellow bloggers… a few even involve oats in a crockpot.  Who knew THAT was possible?!

Highway 1 Road Trip: Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz

July 29, 2016 By Laura

I will eventually recap my entire birthday trip.

It just might take until my next birthday.

I posted our Golden Gate bridge urban hike, but after that we packed up and headed south down Highway 1, the scenic route down the coast of California.  It’s a beautiful trip – if you ever have a chance to make the drive, DO IT!
