Cupping Therapy, Lebanese Wine, & WIAW

August 17, 2016 By Laura

I’m moving slow this week.

Because I was attacked by an octopus.

Ok, so maybe not for real.  I’ve been crazy sore and the octopus action helped me with recovery.  It’s actually called supping therapy (you may have seen similar spots on Michael Phelps).

Socca Waffles, Glutes, and WIAW Eats

August 10, 2016 By Laura

The Olympics have taken over our TV.

Is everyone else this obsessed?

I feel like this week has been background to the Olympics.  I work while watching the Olympics, I plan workouts while watching the Olympics, Vegas and I eat dinner in front of the TV… we are obsessed.

I did get away for a run though.  It was a gorgeous day, despite all the hills.

Leg Day Fuel {WIAW}

August 3, 2016 By Laura

Working out in the heat is 100x harder.

Especially cardio and leg day.

I’ve actually gotten in a few good runs.  Maybe I’ll one day earn the “sprint” back.  Until then, I’ll be satisfied with my current summer heat pace.  It’s definitely faster than I’ve been in a couple of years!

Chocolate & Peanut Butter Krispy Squares {Raw Recipe}

July 1, 2016 By Laura

There’s no better excuse to eat dessert than a holiday weekend.

Like I need an excuse to eat dessert…

I’m not a raw foodist by any means, but I love raw desserts.  These raw Chocolate & Peanut Butter Krispy Squares are quick and easy, plus you can make extra to keep in the freezer for a satisfying sweet tooth quickie (#TWSS).

Walnut Pesto & Shrimp Cauliflower Crust Flatbread {WIAW}

June 22, 2016 By Laura

We’re big pizza fans.

But who isn’t?!

When I saw that this month’s Recipe Redux topic was to celebrate another ReDuxer, I knew immediately I was going with the pesto flatbread from the walnut round up.

At least once a week some form of pizza happens in my house.  Vegas would eat if for every meal if I let her!  Pizza, flatbread… same difference, no?  I added my own #strangebutgood twist by making it a Walnut Pesto & Shrimp Cauliflower Crust Flatbread.

Healthy Walnut Pavlova with Blueberry Sauce [Sugar-Free, Gluten-Free]

June 11, 2016 By Laura

Pavlova has been on my bucket list for years.

Yes, I have a strange bucket list.

Pavlova is a gorgeous dessert.  It’s perfectly light and airy; aptly named after a Russian ballerina.  My take on this sweet treat is a healthy Walnut Pavlova with Blueberry Sauce.  It’s sugar-free, gluten-free, and naturally high in protein!

Canned Wine, Cardio, & WIAW

June 1, 2016 By Laura

I’m starving.

Thank you, incessant cardio.

I began my day meeting a new client, then I had to go to Whole Foods.  There was one right next door to my meeting… I couldn’t help myself.

It was a new-to-me location, so I wandered aimlessly for a good while taking pics of fun things like sparkling wine in a can.  I miiiiiight have purchased a 4-pack.  Curiosity killed the cat.

Sparkling wine in a can - don't judge!

Things I’m Loving (and other randomness)

May 16, 2016 By Laura

Being reduced to crutches has given me a lot of time to catch up on stuff.

And drink wine… but that’s neither here nor there.

Today I thought I’d share a list (does this count Meghan?) of some of random things I’ve been up to and/or loved lately – recipes, articles, things we’ve been up to… all marvelous.  I’m bored, can you tell?

1. Did you know Glutamine is good for IBS?  Vegas has IBS big time.  She’s got some gummies headed her way this week!

I made mine mostly like the recipe, but used acai and cherries as the fruit.  I think I needed more liquid…
