Strangely enough, it does rain in San Diego.
Especially when I make something pretty that I need sunlight to take pics of.
Chia pudding, pumpkin… none of that is strange. Adding quinoa to the mix may be a little odd, but it is quite good! (As is the occasional rain.)
Our anti-inflammatory diet experiment had led to a lot of creativity. Since we are grain-free, I’ve been using sweet potato and quinoa as our main carbs. Vegas claims to not like quinoa, so naturally I’ve been sneaking it into everything. Like this pumpkin pie-inspired breakfast.

Pumpkin season is upon us!
Too bad it is still ridiculously hot here.
Despite the heat, I’ve decided it’s time to bring the pumpkin back. Given our new anti-inflammatory diet experiment, I didn’t start out with some decadent baked good. No, this recipe is simple, healthy, and grain-free.
It also sounds a bit strange… but I promise you that adding pumpkin to chicken is good.

I’ve been slacking on the #strangebutgood.
Really just the link up… life’s strange goodness continues.
I’m still not back home, so I have no recipe for you. I do have some observations and life happenings though!
How about I did a FlyWheel class with my baby sister an cousin, then took mom to the gym for a glute workout. My mom LOVES glutes. Really.

The family workouts continue!
There’s something especially satisfying about making your loved ones hurt.
We’re wrapping up some loose ends this week in Atlanta. I’m still enjoying my time at home and loving mom’s new digs.
We had a fun workout yesterday in her gym. She said I worked her harder than any of the trainers she’s worked with. Mwhahahah! Here’s what we did:

I’m cheating a little this week.
Not Ashley Madison style though… here’s to karma.
I’m cheating by not having a actual strange but good recipe. Vegas and I are in Arizona and I didn’t really do anything that strange food-wise unless you count my salmon scramble in Wednesday’s post. Or maybe my road salad. Perhaps Vegas’ gas station selections.
We did eat some strange food in Scottsdale Wednesday night though! I spent a couple of hours of the drive searching for the best possible food options for dinner when we arrived. I landed on SumoMaya – an Asian-Mexican fusion concept. We were not disappointed!
