What I Ate in Vegas

September 13, 2017 By Laura

If you made it through Monday’s long post, congratulations.

My apologies if this one gets just as long.

After my adventures in poker and another late night, I spent the next morning repenting at the gym.  I had an unpictured Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Quest bar, which is my favorite flavor for breakfast.  They are lifesavers on the road!

I was really excited to be able to incorporate some VERY light weight glute work into my workout.  Progress!  It’s so good to be able to activate those muscles again.

Waking Up in Vegas

September 11, 2017 By Laura

Las Vegas has grown on me in the last 3 years.

And not just because that’s where I picked up Vegas.

As a blogger, I can get caught up on trying to write posts that are going to have amazing SEO, become stars on Pinterest, or go viral on Facebook.  This post is going to achieve none of those things.  This post is going to be a little random… but I hope it’s entertaining and that it makes you laugh a little.

My First NASCAR Experience + WIAW

March 9, 2016 By Laura

Vegas is an expert at teaching me a lesson in “never say never.”

Marriage, camping… NASCAR.

We’re on an epic camping trip right now.  And by camping, I mean “glamping.”  We have an RV complete with stove, shower, and toilet.  Just my speed.

We started in Vegas for the NASCAR, and we’ll end in Phoenix for a few Padres spring training games.  Today we’re in Page, AZ to see Antelope Canyon.  This is the view I woke up to:

Catalina Island Anniversary Trip

January 4, 2016 By Laura

Vegas and I have been married for 1 year and 2 days.

That’s 1 year and 2 days longer than I ever thought I’d be married.

One year Anniversary

Neither of us ever really wanted to be married… so we make sure to celebrate it regularly!  For our one year anniversary, Vegas surprised Lucie and I with a day trip to Catalina Island….

Week in Review: Whirlwind Trip to Vegas

November 9, 2015 By Laura

We all know about what happens in Vegas.

That’s never actually worked for me.

What happens in Vegas typically stays with me.  I marry it, Instagram it, or post about it.

And that leads me to my very first submission to Meghan’s Week In Review.

Week In Review

Vegas and I spent a long weekend in Vegas.  It started a little something like this:…

It’s Not Always Sunny in San Diego (or Vegas)

July 22, 2015 By Laura

It’s been one of those weeks.

I’m not really sure what day it is…

I started the week in San Diego, now I’m in Vegas, and I’m driving back to San Diego tonight.  What’s more confusing is that this weekend in San Diego it POURED down rain.  I thought it wasn’t supposed to rain in paradise?!  (Actually this is a good thing since California is having a drought.)

It was also Pride weekend, so I watched the wet hot mess from a bar.

What Happened in Vegas…

May 11, 2015 By Laura

I realize this is supposed to stay in Vegas.

And one or two incriminating pics definitely will…

Lucie, Vegas, and I had such an amazing time in Sin City sinning celebrating Lucie’s birthday.  I can’t help but to share some of it.  I think these pics (mostly) speak for themselves.

Blogger-appropriate road snacks.

San Diego Farmer’s Market Heaven

March 30, 2015 By Laura

Just when I thought San Diego couldn’t get any better…

Seeing the 30 degree temps in Atlanta seals the deal too.

This weekend happened.  We started Friday with a new tradition: date night picnic in the park.  If you haven’t been to Balboa Park in San Diego, add it to your bucket list.  It’s huge – think Central Park on steroids.  There are 65 mile of trails, museums, a zoo, a theatre, and more gardens than I can count.

We packed turkey sandwiches, hummus, and veggies and set out for a picnic in the rose garden.  It’s my favorite part of the park.  The best part was laying around after we ate and taking in the view.
