Aperol Spritz: The Perfect Aperitivo

August 20, 2018 By Laura

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Riondo Prosecco. All opinions are 100% mine.

An Aperol Spritz is a refreshing cocktail that is perfect on a warm afternoon. This classic Italian aperitivo is made up of a simple (and delicious!) combination of Prosecco and Aperol, finished with a splash of soda

Aperitivo time! An Aperol Spritz and a charcuterie are the perfect happy hour pairing.

Have you ever had an Aperol Spritz?  I remember my very first one. I was in Italy – in Verona – at a little cafe.  My friend and I looked around and saw everyone drinking these beautiful coral-colored fizzy things.  The waiter told us it was an Aperol Spritz, and that meeting friends after work for one is an Italian tradition.

I ordered one (when in Rome) and immediately fell in love.  This drink is as delicious as it is refreshing. It’s low in alcohol, making it the perfect pre-dinner drink!  What’s even better is that, in Italy, they always bring a little snack with your beverage. If you’re really lucky, that snack includes fresh bread and prosciutto.

Lately, the Aperol Spritz has caught on in the U.S., which makes me incredibly happy.  As much fun as it is to stop into an Italian cafe for one, it’s just as easy to make at home.  This refreshing, aromatic drink makes any evening feel special. Why shouldn’t you celebrate a random Wednesday?

Aperol pairs perfectly with crisp, bubbly prosecco. I use Riondo Prosecco, which is an authentic Italian sparkling wine.  It’s the #1 Prosecco in Italy – luckily, it’s readily available (and affordable) in the States!

An Aperol Spritz is the perfect way to celebrate the end of the day!

When I especially wish I were back in Italy, I make an Aperol Spritz and bring out a snack board.  The other key is always to invite friends. Aperitivo is about socializing and celebrating the day’s work! Don’t miss these other Riondo Prosecco Cocktails!

I started drinking bubbles on the regular when Vegas said to me, “Why do you need to wait for a reason to celebrate?” True story.

Have you ever had an Aperol Spritz?

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?

Two Days in Cinque Terre: From Riomaggiore to Monterosso

October 24, 2016 By Laura

Have you even been somewhere that looks like a postcard?

Cinque Terre is even MORE beautiful than that.

Cinque Terre is comprised of five tiny seaside villages on the north coast of Italy.  It literally translates to “The Five Lands.” The five towns are: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso.  Each one is beautiful in it’s own way, but they all possess an almost magical coastal Italian charm.

Then main streets are lined with family-owned shops, artisan gelato, and the best seafood you’ll ever eat.  The clear, glittering water will almost hypnotize you, and you’ll finish each day plotting a way to retire to one of the colorful old buildings.  It truly is like something out of a storybook.

How to spend the perfect 2 days exploring, hiking, and eating your way through Cinque Terre, Italy!
