I was going to write a blog today…

March 3, 2014 By Laura

I was going to write a nice, informative post…

…maybe I exaggerate.

I was going to write, but insteadΒ I spent the morning lazily making jicama nachos:

Jicama Nachos

I was going to write, but I went out for Korean BBQ with friends:

Hae Woon Dae

I was going to write, but I spent Saturday at the gym:

progress march 2014

I was going to write, but I found a fun new app to make posters with:

these aren't sleeves.

I was going to write, but I spent Sunday in the park getting sunburned while playing bocce and exploring among new art:

atlanta beltline

I was going to write, but I spent an evening goofing off with a dear friend:

I was going to write, but life happened.

***

It was a marvelous weekend. Β Check out Katie’s blog for more marvelous!

What was the highlight of your weekend?

When was the last time you shirked responsibility in favor of life?

Ha! I could pretty much have started my post the same way. Big plans but life happened. Good for us! Life is so much more important than a blog post.

highlight? seeing a dear friend after WAY too long. and mimosas for brunch.

Yes! I think that is a good thing! Sometimes we feel like we “need” to write posts regularly, and I find myself panicking that I have not got anything for people to read….but its more important to live life! Very effective post! Glad you had a wonderful weekend πŸ™‚

Don’t worry; I wrote enough for everybody today. Now I’m exhausted and off to play. Or really go to work, but once I come home, I’ll play.

Your weekend looks ideal. Way better than writing. πŸ™‚

I blew my travel allowance on Blend this year. It’s rough being a sugar mama with education expenses. Hell that was one of my reasons for going childless: to avoid tuition payments and look at how well that turned out. You could always come to Cleveland. You could bring a friend too.

I too had aspirations for the kitchen… and then we went out. Or lazed. Or just did otherwise. Mostly the gym and PT. But I also have the excuse of going out of town and not wanting to have things that might sit around, you know?
And I saw a “Sleeves=Holsters” meme, and actually thought of you!
Also, I am now out of jicama. Sad. Face.

    • Laura says

      March 7, 2014 at 12:45 AM

ALWAYS a better ‘plan’ to let life happen!! Much more fun… looks like you had a great weekend! Mine was full of fun birthday shenanigans. Well, it was pretty low-key due to ridiculously COLD weather, but it was a good one nonetheless! I still need to try jicama nachos, they look so tasty and right up my alley!

I actually managed to write a post. It feels weird to be back blogging again after such a long break;)
On another note, I need those jicama nachos! Yum!

Although the details are different, this is why I’m blogging at a rate of about one per week right now. Life is simply so much more grand than mustering up the energy to write some words about it.

…except I still want everyone else to blog so that I have something to read over breakfast and dinner. Ha!
