The Event Planning Life

September 15, 2014 By Laura

The big day has arrived.

Hold me.

At work, we host a 3 day conference every year.  This year’s being today.  It’s been a little nuts  (<– understatement) leading up to it… but I am really excited!  Here’s a little bite of what life has looked like the past few days.

ATL skyline

There have been early mornings.

Midtown ATL

Late night bike rides home through the park.

Drinking on the job. (We have a beer fridge.)

Fun snacks.

Delicious caffeine.

Lunches ordered in from MetroFresh – that chicken sweet potato salad was delish!

De-stressing workouts with friends. Complete with sexy concentration faces.

“Fat guy in a little suit” sing-a-longs and posing while conference-clothing shopping.

Fuck

And a healthy dose of stress draaaaanks.

dessert bowl

PSA: Pumpkin Pie Protein Bowls topped with Halo chocolate ice cream are also good for stress.

I’m still in shock it’s finally here.  It feels marvelous.

Have you ever planned an event?

How do you de-stress?

I could get on board with the beer fridge at work but unfortunately I don’t do any event planning, I’m not the best under stress though so that’s probably a good thing. Hope everything goes smoothly for you for the conference!

Yummo! Back when I worked in Sydney, my firm held three conferences a year. One was 5 days and in two countries! I couldn’t train at all during the conference, as I had to be there at 6am and didn’t leave til almost midnight. I did, however, eat out of my tupperware in the bathroom while everyone else ate all the conference food. Heck, I really wanted to be a bodybuilder!

    • Laura says

      September 23, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Oh man… I can’t imagine. I only made it to the gym on Monday and I totally ate conference food!
