Back in ATL [WIAW]

February 28, 2018 By Laura

This is legit my life right now.

Sorry,Β mom, I didn’t make the bed…

The pod that contains our bed arrives on Thursday.Β  Vegas arrives…Β we’re not sure yet.Β  This place is EMPTY!Β  Thankfully I have good friends with air mattresses and ladders, and a mom that is willing to spend the entire weekendΒ painting the whole downstairs of my new place.Β  It went from red to this!

I also started my new job, which is really nice for several reasons.Β  It gives me somewhere to be other than this emptyΒ place, the people are awesome, they have TONS of snacks and La Croix, they provide lunch 3x a week, and there’s a gym.Β  All things considered, I’m set up prettyΒ well!Β  I just really, really miss Vegas.

Sooooo….Β this is my first WIAW in ATL.Β  It’s pretty decent considering there’s NO food in my house.Β  Or even a fork, for that matter.WIAW - New

Be sure to link up to Jenn’sΒ WIAW baby at the bottom!

Breakfast:

I made my soloΒ morning cocktailsΒ and headed out to work.Β  I can walk to work, which is really nice.

Then I had a protein bar and a La Croix at the office.Β  Key Lime La Croix is delicious, btw.

Breakfast of champions

Lunch:

The firstΒ 3 daysΒ of the week, lunch is brought in to the office.Β  And it’s really good!!!Β  Yesterday was Mediterranean food – pita, hummus, and beef and chicken shawarma.Β  Plus more La Croix.

Dinner:

Mom texted to see if I wanted to go to dinner.Β  Obviously, I did!Β  She met me at my place and weΒ walked down the street a place where we had my favorite dinner – a charcuterie.

An InLinkz Link-up

The excitement is wearing off… I really can’t wait for us to be settled in one place.

Does your office have snacks?

What’s yourΒ favoriteΒ La Croix flavor?

It must be so very cool to be back home! Sounds like the new job is off to a good start, food and a gym is not bad. Hope Vegas can join you soon and you get some forks. LOL

I’m really, really loving the job. It’s making being apart of Vegas a little more tolerable!

Moving is always hard and exhausting! That’s great that you have healthy lunches brought into work for you. Trying to join the WIAW but my link seems to be stuck somewhere!

    • Laura says

      March 18, 2018 at 8:58 PM

They do a really good job of that. They also make sure there are veggie-friendly and GF options, which is really cool.

Ohhhhh the messiness of moving! I say embrace it. How often do you get to go forkless and throw all your (very few) belongings on the floor because there’s no where else for them to go…
That being said, I do hope Vegas can join you soon.

And um, can I have your job? It sounds ballin. Lunch three days a week is huge!

      March 18, 2018 at 9:08 PM

It’s IS a pretty ballin’ job! The snacks are amazing too. πŸ™‚

Hi! I’m new to your blog and I’m really excited to have a new source for recipes and fitness motivation. I hate to say it, but I am not a La Croix fan. I keep it simple with Orange Canada Dry!

Oh I really do hope Vegas gets to you sooner rather than later. When David is away I always feel like a part of me is missing. But a exciting new job will at least keep you busy and focused and talk about job perks, wow!!
I really hope the La Croix madness spreads over to Australia. It amazes me it hasn’t, it’s the perfect product for a hot country like this!

    • Laura says

      March 18, 2018 at 9:23 PM

That’s exactly how I feel! The worst part is not having a date… no end in sight. UGH. At least she’s coming to visit this week.

There’s nothing like a La Croix on a hot day. it’s blown up here… I’m sure it’ll be to you soon!

And the adventure begins! Hello Atlanta. I already love your new place. I really hope Vegas gets there soon. I miss her. Congrats on the new Job! That’s super exciting. Can you believe I’ve never had La Croix before?? I know I know it’s a crime. Is that a falafel? Oh yes, it is. I love when you have charcuterie for dinner πŸ™‚ Is that a sugared rim martini I spy in the background! TAsty

    • Laura says

      March 18, 2018 at 9:27 PM

Thank you!!! And WHAT??? You’ve never had La Croix??? I drink like 5 of them a day. LOL!

Yes, it was a falafel! We have Greek food 3x last week and I was in heaven. The drink was a blue cheese olive martini. I think the oil from the olive juice must have made it look sugared? Oddly, I love to eat sweets but I cannot drink them.

This too shall pass! It must be hard without Vegas but hope she joins you soon!! At least you have your mom, tons of amazing food and LeCroix. I mean really…:-)
Also, could you please put together a menu for post stomach flu? I’m dying over here with plain bagels and bananas.

    • Laura says

      March 18, 2018 at 9:30 PM

Everyone has had the flu around here! It’s been a few years, but the last time I got the flu I was 30 years old… and I called my mommy to come get me. LOL! I’m a wuss when it comes to puking. She fed me bananas and kombucha. The kombucha really helped, actually.

back to your roots again! sounds like your work place caters lunch three times a week? we get occasional lunch-and-learns so i guess that works also. i am having trouble remembering what i ate because i’ve been working extra hours. sometimes my meals are a quick snack. i’ll try to write something down for the next WIAW! =P

    • Laura says

      March 18, 2018 at 9:34 PM

The 3x/week lunches have been amazing. Especially since I haven’t had a kitchen! I love lunch and learns too. It’s a great way for companies to do continuing ed.

From what I’ve seen of your new place, it looks really cute! Moving is such a tedious process, but you’ll get settled eventually…and your wifey will join you at some point – hopefully soon! πŸ™‚
