Savory Cheese & Hummus French Toast

Think outside of the box with your French Toast!  This Savory Cheese & Hummus French Toast is bursting with flavor from garlic, cheese, hummus, and a perfectly runny egg.  It's perfect for brunch or brinner. 

It’s no secret that my favorite meal of the day is breakfast.  Oddly, that does not mean I’m a morning person.  Since I’m more of a night owl and rarely get up early enough to make a hot breakfast, I’ve been a fan of eating breakfast all day long.

You may recognize this pic from Instragram.  Yesterday morning I asked you to guess what it was and a couple got it!  It was this savory cheesy hummus french toast.

This Savory Cheese & Hummus French Toast may look like a lot, but this was the EASIEST thing to throw together.  All you need for the eggy dip is some egg white and hummus.  It's not that strange... it's really just savory eggs with bread.

I added some spices too, but you can do your own thing depending on the flavors you’re craving.  I’ve also done this with Mexican-inspired flavors and topped it with salsa.  That didn’t suck either. 😉

This Savory Cheese & Hummus French Toast is an easy brinner. It's not as strange as it seems... it's really just savory eggs with bread! Plus sriracha if you're me. ;)

On my brinner version, I included carrot, tomato, hemp hearts, and avocado.  Of course, I finished it with a little #yolkporn.  The yolk acts as the syrup and it is just glorious… I don’t know what else to tell you.  (If you’ve seen my waffles, you know it’s an addiction I have.)

The bread I used as the base is a brand new gluten-free flavor from Canyon Bakehouse – Hawaiian Bread.  I love the sweet and savory vibe, but you can use whatever you like!

Top this Savory Cheese & Hummus French Toast brinner with an egg over easy. The yolk becomes the most amazing syrup!
