Cherry-Sweet Potato Greek Yogurt + NuNaturals Giveaway

Happy Birthday to meeeeeee!

Shameless over celebration of birthdays is a family tradition.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of Sprint 2 the Table.  Rather than wax poetic, I figured I’d just give you guys presents.  Everyone ok with that?

This week there will be a giveaway EVERY DAY!  These are NOT sponsored – I reached out to my favorite brands to ask if they’d be willing to share some love with you in honor of the big #3.  I’m excited to start it out with my go-to sweetener.

Vanilla Stevia Alcohol Free 2 oz Liquid

I try to avoid added sugars (within reason – don’t come between me and my chocolate cake), but I have a MAJOR sweet tooth.  One of my strategies for taming a sweet tooth is to use Stevia, which come from the Stevia leaf.

NuNaturals has offered to take place in the blogiversary celebration by offering to FOUR of you (1) one bottle of each of the Lemon, Peppermint , Vanilla, and the NEW Cherry Vanilla Stevia Liquids.  Even better?  This is open to anyone WORLDWIDE.

They sent me a little present too – I got to try the new Cherry Vanilla flavor!  I went straight to me favorite meal of the day to test it out.  Dessert!

Cherry-Sweet Potato Greek Yogurt Bowl

Nearly every night I have a midnight snack in the form of a Greek yogurt or no-salt cottage cheese creation (yes, I eat after 7pm *gasp*).  I don’t care for casein powder, so this is the perfect alternative for me.  To sweeten these creations, I prefer to use liquid Stevia because I find it blends better.

This bowl of Cherry-Sweet Potato Greek Yogurt is the perfect blend of rich cherry-vanilla from the Stevia and creamy, sweet sweet ‘tater.  The texture is silky-smooth, and I love adding cherries, raw oats, and cacao nibs to the top for a little texture contrast.  And chocolate.  Always chocolate… mmmm…

Oh, right… the giveaway!!!!  Enter here and keep reading for the recipe!

Cherry-Sweet Potato Greek Yogurt

Cherry-Sweet Potato Greek Yogurt

  • 1/2 baked sweet potato, peeled and mashed
  • 1/2 C Greek yogurt
  • 1 T coconut flour (optional… but not really ;))
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Pinch of cloves
  • 5-6 drops NuNaturals Pure Liquid Cherry-Vanilla Stevia
  • 1 T unsweetened almond milk (or other liquid)
  • Optional toppings: cocoa powder sauce (cocoa powder + liquid + stevia), cherries, cacao nibs, oats

Combine everything in a small bowl and mix until smooth.  You may need to add more liquid to achieve desired consistency.

Top with your favorites and enjoy!

Note: You can make this ahead and/or even freeze it to make a fro-yo!  This also makes for a bangin’ protein shake combo.

I have to say again how EXCITED I am for this week.  Tomorrow’s is awesome… and it comes with a workout.  Overall this week is pretty marvelous. 😉

Have you tried Stevia yet?  What’s your favorite way to use it?

Which do you prefer – sweet potato or pumpkin puree?  Others?

  1. says

Happy 3 years- I hope you continue blogging for many years to come, so much so that kabocha burgers made out of beetroot flour and chocolate chip sauce is considered normal 😉

I love kabocha puree… seeing as I’ve been using it like crazy lately, since my kabocha roasting binge!

  2. says

Happy 3 year blogiversary! Right now I would vote pumpkin puree all the way, but sweet potatoes will always have a special place in my heart…and stomach!
And I usually just use Stevie to sweeten my tea but have recently branched out to a liquid vanilla crème one for different food recipes I am trying lately.

  3. says

NuNaturals is amazing, I LOVE them with there creative flavorings!! I use Stevia in everything, in my sauces, in my tea/coffee, in my baked good and even on chicken! I love it! Happy Three Years to Blogging!!! Love + Shine CourtStar

  4. says

Haha well I usually use mine in a tall glass of almond milk – unsweetened almond milk + vanilla extract, stevia, agave nectar and some cinnamon. Yumm 😛

  5. says

mmmmmmmmm i am definitely trying this because I LOVE EVERYTHING about it omg. i always have greek yogurt or cottage cheese before bed, too. lately it’s been cottage cheese, but greek yogurt comes into play every now and then. i can’t wait to try this laura! love u

  6. says

Oh, I haven’t gotten that new flavor yet. I use the liquid vanilla in my cinnamon apples for my oatmeal. I also like to add it to greek yogurt with PB2. And maybe it’s just me/my computer, but when I try to say that I like your or NuNaturals FB page, it tries to pin the image of the fantastic looking yogurt.

  7. Kaitlin says

I use Nunaturals in my greek yogurt every day!! I love that I don’t have to buy the sugar filled flavored yogurts to get delicious yogurt

    • Laura says

Amen to that! It drives me nuts people think that’s a health food. It’s not the worst, but it’s not a freebie either!

  8. says

Happy 3 years!! WOOOOO! That is amazing :-) …we must have started our blogs the same year. Who woulda thunk 😉

Btdubs, totally going to try your cauliflower crust this week. STOKED!

  9. says

I eat Stevia every morning in my oatmeal:

    – 1/3 c oatmeal
    – 1 packet stevia
    – pumpkin pie spice

I have been eating this same breakfast for over a year now! I also use half a packet of Stevia in my tea (it’s too sweet for me to use more than that!)

  10. says

Happy anniversary!! Big 3, that’s exciting!! I LOVE stevia for everything from shakes, coffee, pancakes, and have even been known to put it on my sweet potato! I’ve never tried a flavored stevia so I am hoping I win!!

  11. says

My FAVORITE would have to be in my daily cup of coffee because I don’t think I can live without it! But also love stevia in baking and in some of your late night creations! CONGRATS on 3 years of blogging – WOW! You’re an inspiration for sure!

  12. says

Is this going to be like that time when Dr. Pepper tried to make Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper and everyone was all like, “WTF? Regular Dr. Pepper is AWESOME”? I’m VERY wary of cherry flavored things, but NuNaturals has served me well thus far, so I’d be willing to take a chance on it.

Oh yeah, the question: My favorite way to use NuNaturals is flavoring giant pancakes or microwave muffins, but since it’s been so long since I’ve made those and I no longer remember the recipes, I’ll say that my most CONSISTENT use is in my diluted shot of ACV. Lemon liquid stevia is delish for that!

    Happy Blogday, BT-Dubs.

    Yes, I said it: DUBS.

    • Laura says

Ummmm… no. Because there was no original cherry to copy. Your example is flawed. FLAWED, I tell you! 😉

      Dubba dubs

  13. says

Humm… I think I would prefer sweet potato over pumpkin, but my stomach handles pumpkin better because it’s less starchy so I’m going to go with that one.

I’ve used granulated (?) stevia in the past and have a lot of the liquids sitting at home, never opened or used. Lol. Maybe I should do a giveaway. Haha.

    • Laura says

Really, you can’t go wrong with orange. 😉

I can’t believe you haven’t tried the liquid! You have to do it and let me know what you think. It’s all I use!

  14. says

I use stevia literally everyday! I am almost out of my vanilla so this would be perfect to win and I have not yet tried the new flavor or seen it anywhere for that matter!

  15. says

Yay! Happy birthday to the bloggy!!! I didn’t even KNOW there was a cherry-vanilla flavor! Yum! But I’m so not entering since NuNaturals has been WAY too good to me in the past and I have an UNGODLY amount of stevia in my possession…which reminds me that I need to do a review/giveaway of my own! Seriously? How do I get so behind in these damn things…Oh I know, because I’m a perfectionist and think that I have to have a mind-blowing recipe to go along with every thing I review! SMH

I use pumpkin puree and sweet potato puree interchangeably since I can’t really tell the difference between them, but I use pumpkin more because it’s easier to find. I do like the idea of combining either with cherries though…my mind always goes to cranberries!

    • Laura says

Ha – I had a stock pile going too. Then it was all gone. Now it’s all back. Stevia life-cycles.

I roast the crap outta fresh taters for my SP puree. The only downside is that it take pre-planning. Which I suck at.

  16. says

Happy 3rd! I hope you continue to blog far into the future. Your posts are always so fun to read and your creative recipes are endless! You’re one of the first foodie blogs I stumbled upon when I got more into fitness a couple years ago.

Question answer! My favorite way to use stevia is in my plain greek yogurt snacks! I use it in my tea too.
