Happy (Non) Turkey Day!

Wishing all of you a…

My Friendsgiving crew (Heather and Kirk) already completed a 5K Turkey Trot (NOT as easy at 10,000 ft.) and we’re on to breakfast before my very first Vegan Turkey Day Feast!

Today I am especially thankful for friends that stick by and support through thick and thin, crazy training plans, meals of epic proportions, and everything in between.

Quick – name one thing you’re thankful for!

I am incredibly jealous of that rainbow tutu. If I owned it, it would be a staple of my wardrobe :) Happy T-Gives!!

Heather rocks that tutu at every race. I really want to copy her.

I wish my work would heat the building adequately. Cheap-os.

      Happy Thanksgiving!

How was the run?! I ran my usual Turkey Day Run 5k here in Charleston. I run every year. I got my best time in a while, 20:10. Pretty good, considering I ran a 6 mile warmup. Oops. All in good fun…I’m thankful I don’t have to travel on holidays. I can only imagine the added stress. Everyone either lives here or travels our way for holidays. I am so envious of your vegan turkey day, I’m sure it was incredible. I managed to have an awesome vegetarian/vegan meal (vegan—with the exception of seafood–I eat any and all seafood). Oyster stuffing with carrots, Frogmore stew (boiled shrimp+red potatoes), and lowcountry white rice. It was the jam. Can’t wait to hear about your meal!

It was good… but much harder at that altitude. Congrats on your time – that’s incredible!

I knew you’d be able to complete the run just fine. :)

And Thanksgiving doesn’t need turkey to be awesome. [As I know you found out...and I am about to read about. Hooray for belated catch-ups...]
