Guilty as Charged

Are you a Foodie?

Watch Shit Foodies Say for help deciding:

If I’m guilty of saying nearly everything in that video… am I a Foodie?

Just please tell me I’m not intolerable… :)

Speaking of foodies… we had an Atlanta Blogger Potluck on Saturday night.

It was awesome to get to try the food from the people whose posts make my stomach growl.

In attendance: Emily (former blogger)TinaStacyCarolTraci, Laura (another former blogger)Alayna, and me.

Lee was the photog… and was also nice enough to offer up her house to us, which was fantastic because we could all sit around a coffee table and talk.  It’s hard to have a group conversation in noisy restaurants at long tables!

The food was delicious, as you might imagine.

At our table:

  • Sweet Potato Tot Casserole from Stacy (Mama Pea recipe!)
  • Greek salad from Tina
  • Japanese Sweet Potato Casserole from Alanya (which is going to be in her cookbook!)
  • Broccoli Salad from Carol
  • Spinach Balls from Laura
  • Spinach and Artichoke Dip from Lee
  • Olive tapenade on toasts from Traci *I think*
  • Brie and apples on water crackers from Emily *I think*
  • My Chocolate Zucchini Muffins
  • My Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Cookies
  • Nutella Sandwich Cookies from Laura *I think*
  • Carrot cake from Alanya

My plate didn’t have an inch of room to spare…

And you better believe I cleaned my dessert plate too!

We sat around talking and eating for 4 hours!  Topic ranged from running to general gossip to horror stories.  Seriously – do NOT ever see the Human Centipede.

As you might imagine, it was all amazing and I left Lee’s house smiling and stuffed.

Now that the gluttony portion of this post is complete… it’s time for the workout recap.

The Dr. said to take 2 weeks off of running and focus on correcting the balance or strength between my hamstrings and quads, so I’ve been good.  Today’s 70 degree Southern California-esque weather made me miss running a lot, but I did get out for a good walk.  And a treat.

Workout Recap (1/30 - 2/5)

Three exciting things to cover:

  1. Thanks to all for the “Buzz.”  I made the FoodBuzz twice this weekend!!!  Check it out here and here
  2. I actually wrote a weekend post in honor of the #ChocolateLove Bloghop.  Check out my Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Cookies here and link up your favorite chocolate recipe.
  3. Stay tuned for an AWESOME giveaway tomorrow!!!

What did you think of the Super Bowl?  (By Super Bowl I mean Madonna’s rockin’ performance.)

If you could have a dream-blogger potluck, who are a couple of bloggers you would invite?

That video was hilarious!! I never really questioned that I was a foodie, but I didn’t expect to have said that many typical comments- I need to get some new lines. :)

I’m sad I missed all the fun on Saturday night, why does everything always happen on the same weekend?!

    1. Laura

Glad I’m not the only guilty one!

I am still thinking about your squash casserole. I’ll pay/bribe you for the recipe. :)

  19. Laura, RD, LDN

Omg that video is too amazing. The picture thing was my favorite part. It drives my husband insane when I do that… Which is always. ;) but he is actually the one who says most of that other stuff. I really love all those “shit “insert random name” say” I watch them all the time.

    1. Laura

You should have seen us at the potluck! I think we waited a solid 10 mins to eat in order to get pics.

  20. Christin@purplebirdblog

Love that you guys have such a tight-knit blogger friend base where you are!!! :)

  21. Laura @ LauraLivesLife

Like I didn’t need another reason to move to Atlanta – I love the community there!

    I think I’m an obnoxious foodie…

AND, I loved the SuperBowl and the half-time performance!

    1. Laura

Atlanta would love to have you. Obnoxious foodies unite! :)

  22. Allie

S*** foodies say… hahaha.. story of my life!

  23. Rande McDaniel @ The Vegetable Centric Kitchen

I’m totally making those zucchini chocolate muffins- they sound amazing! And i’m so glad you commented on my blog so I could find YOURS!

  24. Sarah

jealous of all that sass and good eats under one roof. they call it hotlanta for a reason, ow ow! congrats on food buzz popularity, too. Thats major. now make some more amazing food to share with me. I am die-hard recipe convert of yours thanks to the successes I’ve had thus far.

oh question: have you tried p90x insanity?

    1. Laura

Thank you so much! More food to come… Wednesday. Giveaway tomorrow though, so come back! :)

I haven’t tried Insanity, but would love to. I hear its… insane. Have you tried it? I also want P90X2.

    1. Laura

      You and me both! LOL!

  27. Hayley @ Oat Couture

Hahaha love those videos!! Hilarious! :D

  28. Cucina49

The potluck looks like it was fun! I wish we had enough Anchorage bloggers to try something like that. And that dessert–definitely worth the calories!

  29. Tricia

haha i admit, that video does sound just like you! but i love you… ;)

  30. Rachel @ My Naturally Frugal Family

Seems almost natural that pot luck is what foodies would want…however I can see the pull of going to a restaurant (no clean up or preparation).

What a great looking great and some awesome looking food.

If only there were bloggers in Greensboro…oh well I guess I will just have to move so I can participate in these things.

    1. Laura

You should just come to ATL for our next one!

  31. Kim Bee

How wonderful to get to meet up with other bloggers. I have not met any locally. Makes me sad. So very jealous.

    1. Laura

Come down and join us in ATL any time! :)

      1. Kim Bee

You are so sweet. If I am ever there I shall take you up on that. Would be great to talk to fellow foodies and bloggers.xx

  32. Tricia

haha so i started thinking about this video today at work, and the difference between foodies and industry people… usually my dinner is “oh, the kitchen fucked that up? that’s my dinner!” and instead of “wait, let me take a picture!” it’s “hey, can you watch the floor for a second? i’m going to go slam this in the dish pit!”

    1. Laura

LOL! I miss you. How are things are at HD1? Has Woodfire changed their menu again yet (translation: is it time to go back)?

  33. Tricia

HD1 is fantastic! I love it and you need to come see me ASAP. I’m down for Woodfire whenever you are my dear!

    1. Laura

So happy for you! Let’s do it – or Bacc?
